If you submitted a story to us in the last month, we regret to inform you that you will need to resubmit.
However, we also have some good news to share!
We are RAISING our pay rates! That's right, T Spec Fiction is now paying the minimum industry standard of $20.00 per short story and $25.00 for the "story of the month."
We know resubmitting is a bother, but we hope this exciting update makes it less frustrating!

Submission Details
What we are looking for
We are searching for stories full of thrills, wonder, and adventure. Our imprint focuses on producing quality speculative fiction that harks back to an older age of storytelling – when stories that could be enjoyed by the whole family. Whether your story is fantasy, science-fiction, steampunk, alternate history, or a fairy tale retelling – so long as it’s speculative and includes an element of adventure: we are interested!
While we are a Christian publisher, we do not require stories to be overtly Christian: a clean, enjoyable story that arises from the Evangelical Christian worldview is what we are looking for.
What we’re NOT looking for:
Non-speculative fiction. That means no historical stories (outside of historical fantasy), no contemporary romance, no general literary fiction.
Absolutely no sexual content.
Violence should not exceed a PG-13 rating.
No profanity. Made up swearing like “By the Lion’s mane!” is acceptable.
No works previously published in English.
Word count: 3000 to 7000 words.
How To Submit Your Story
Send your story in standard fiction manuscript format to tspecfiction1@gmail.com with the following subject line: Submission – Story Title.
Please send BLIND submissions: which means that your name is not on the word document: either at the top of the document or in the header / footer.
Multiple submissions are fine, just please send each story in a separate email.
Rights:
First worlds rights. T Spec Fiction would also reserve the right to keep published stories on our website indefinitely, but after a period of twelve months, reprint rights will revert back to you. The “Story of the Month” will be included a physical publication.
Editing
We may request small changes to your story for clarity, etc. We may also perform light copyediting. In either case, you will have the opportunity to approve changes.
Compensation:
Short Story - $20.00 (paid via PayPal)
“Story of the Month” - $25.00 (paid via PayPal)
This new venture is starting out with a flat fee, but we plan on raising our payment to writers as soon as we can.
Acceptance/Rejection: Acceptance and Rejection will be decided after submissions have been received and will be communicated to authors within two weeks.
